Rain On My Production

While water is an important component in the production of bricks, heavy rains are not appreciated. Rains have been relatively light so far in 2007, so production has been little affected. A rainy brickyard is a lonely looking place.

In the photo above we have just finished covering up our newly produced brinks. The storm dropped about 20 mm of rain in the afternoon. We were back up and running the following morning. The moral of the story - too much of a good thing can cause problems.

Bicornis - Endangered Species

Bicornis Weighs More Than Car

Diceros Bicornis, the Black Rhinoceros, has a total body length of around 3.5 metres and an average body weight of 1,400 kilograms. Positioned in the middle of the snout are the two horns. The horns are made of the same substances as hair, fingernails, toenails and claws.

The Black Rhinoceros thick layers skin to protect it from thorns and sharp grasses. It's large ears rotate to give directional information about sounds. It has bad eyesight and relies on it's excellent sense of smell to detect predator. Bicornis has an aggresive disposition that tends to discourage predators. The animals nearsightedness seems to urge the rhino to charge first and investigate later.

Bicornis Brick Plant - Botswana

All the raw materials - sand, cement, stone, water - come together at our brick making machine. Here we have Matemba our Plant Operator working with Disho, Kenosi and Kgosi.

The coordinating of our raw materials allow our employees to focus on quality and productivity. Production planning allows us to satisfy the most importat person - the customer. We realize that it is really our customers who are creating the jobs for the 30 people we have working here. If you are a potential customer, perhaps you can help us create even more jobs!
